Spent a Dark Night Scribbling the Dark Knight
So I haven't really done any drawing in years, but I want to. I wouldn't say I was ever any good but hey, with a little practice, who knows. About a month ago I thought I'd start doing a sketch per day. So far, 1 in 30 ain't bad, I guess. This one took way too long for the sketch per day idea, so maybe it makes up for the 30 day slow start. :D
Did this with the Sketchbook app by Autodesk (link to the free version), on my MacBook, using an inexpensive Wacom "Bamboo Fun" drawing tablet. It's a little old. A current comparable is the "Bamboo Pad". The resolution and quality is not high on this thing and it took a little getting used to. I'm think a higher quality pad might make the process more enjoyable and closer to a pencil and paper experience. It was fun to do though.
I had no idea what I was going to draw when I fired up the app. Drew an oval shape and from the blankness emerged the bat. Looking at it I get a medium quality highschool art class feel from it, but I've never taken an art class so it might not even be that good. ;) Anyway, there it is, for the world to see. Next few sketches will be simpler so I can work on fundamentals and see if I can get better at this stuff.
