Today's Best Thing is probably my favorite thing of the year so far.

Joseph Gordon Levitt appeared on Netflix one day, with something called "HitRECord on TV".  The first 3 thoughts through my head were:

  1. Hey it's the kid from 3rd Rock! (and other cool, stuff, I love that guy he's super talented, what's this show about?)
  2. ... "on TV", TV sucks, that's why I watch Netflix
  3. But it's JGL sooo, this should be good right?

It warranted a read of the description.

Hmm... "crowdsourced", cool, how modern!

"variety show", oh, how retro!

"short films, animation, music and more", wow, they weren't kidding about variety.

So I "HitPLAY" on my Netflix account and watched all 8 episodes of Season 1 in one sit.  And I'll do it again too!

What do I love about it?  EVERY GODDAMN THING!

Joe is a brilliant host.  Did I mention talented?  Through the course of Season One he sings, he dances, he plays the guitar, the piano and the drums!

But it's not about him.  Sure he's at the center of this big universe of swirling hot talent and bright creative stars, but it's about that universe and those stars, and YOU can be a part of it.

The business is described as an "Open Collaborative Production Company".  The website is a platform for collaboration, and it's great!  The things you'll find there will inspire you. The things you can do there will inspire others.

I could go on but it's better if you go explore it yourself.
